- To expand education
The Association for International Media Education was created from a
desire to facilitate international exchanges in the audiovisual domain.
The sharing and transmission of knowledge is our primary goal. AIM’s
current focus is on students at a Master’s level, as well as young
professionals beginning their careers. Continuing education for established
professionals is a natural evolution of this type of activity.
We work to promote
an in-depth understanding of cultural differences, as well as a comprehension
of basic functional differences across national boundaries. For example,
a producer in France and in the U.S. naturally chooses to develop very
different story ideas. In addition he works with different means of
production and financing, and he is constrained by different national
policies. Understanding these variations provides a means of staying
competitive on the international market.
The film and television industry continues to expand internationally
every day. As more companies engage in international co-productions
and sales, the industry needs professionals capable of working comfortably
and productively on the international scene.
